The Nevada Northern Railway East Ely rail yards, early in the morning on Labor Day. Operated by the White Pine Historic Railroad Foundation, the yards were designated a National Historic Monument in 2006. Construction of the railway and yards began in the early 20th century. The railway operated as a subsidiary of Nevada Consolidated Copper Company, later merged into Kennecott Copper Corporation. Commercial operations continued into the 1980s.
